To mark the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and to deepen the study and implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Branch of China HK Power organised a thematic Party-building activity on 15 July under the theme “Carrying Forward the Red Legacy, Uniting Strength for Progress”. The event brought together all Party members at the Shenzhen Reform and Opening-Up Exhibition Hall and Lianhua Hill Park, inspiring them to remain true to their original aspirations and mission, and to forge ahead on the new journey of the new era.
The activity began at the Shenzhen Reform and Opening-Up Exhibition Hall, where members toured the special exhibition “The Tide Surges in the Pearl River – 40 Years of Guangdong’s Reform and Opening-Up”. Guided by curators, they viewed rare historical images, physical models, and interactive displays, retracing Shenzhen’s remarkable transformation from a small fishing town to a modern international metropolis. Each photograph and exhibit vividly reflected the sweeping changes achieved under the leadership of the CPC.
Following the visit, the delegation proceeded to the Deng Xiaoping Statue Square at Lianhua Hill Park. Standing before the Reform and Opening-Up Wall of Inscriptions, members paused to reflect on the historic statement: “Shenzhen’s development and experience prove that our policy of establishing special economic zones is correct.” They also revisited the story of President Xi Jinping’s planting of a banyan tree at the park in 2012—now flourishing as a symbol of the enduring spirit of reform.
The event coincided with the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. On this occasion, Party Branch Secretary Zhu Ruilong recommended classic works such as China’s War of Resistance Against Japan and Red Star Over China. He emphasised that China was among the earliest to begin and the longest to endure the war, achieving victory under the CPC-led united national front. He reminded members that today, as inheritors of this legacy, Party members must both draw strength from the spirit of reform and carry forward the great spirit of resistance—honouring heroes, remembering martyrs, and contributing tirelessly to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The activity left a deep impression on all participants. Standing on the very soil that continues to witness new achievements every day, Party members felt a renewed sense of duty and responsibility. More than a political education exercise, the event inspired unity, determination, and vigour. Members pledged to translate the spirit gained from the activity into concrete actions, to strengthen Party-building, and to contribute actively to the high-quality development of China HK Power.
